Creation
Portal G.L.a.D.O.S BAGLEY was created shortly before December 21, 2021, the date the first video showing the mod's existence was released. (This is the first public archive of the mod that exists, but the creation of the maps took no more than two weeks, so the beginning of development dates from this period.)
At that time, the mod had a completely different name: Portal : G.L.a.D.O.S, simply because the mod was supposed to take place before Portal, but the storyline, at that time, was too close to Portal Prelude.
Finally, on September 11, 2022, the mod was renamed Portal: BAGLEY (which would later become Portal BAGLEY). This represents a complete change of direction: the game takes place not before Portal but in an unknown time period.
Story
Portal BAGLEY has a complex story that is personalized to the player. Indeed, depending on the player's actions and desires, the game will unfold in a certain way, which will give rise to several possible endings.
The fact that the story is personalized according to the player's actions offers advantages but also disadvantages, particularly in terms of development. Indeed, given that the story can unfold in different ways, the maps must be sufficiently complete for all these eventualities, which can be difficult on this version of the Source Engine. But I also have to work on a lot of dialogue. They have to be written, recorded, edited and implemented, which takes a considerable amount of time.
